Lancia

This Lancia Fulvia Sport 1600 Zagato was produced in ’71 by Carrozzeria Zagato at their brand new factory in Terrazano di Rho near Milan and was first registered in June ’72. In 1986 it was imported to The Netherlands and owned by a Dutch lady who was a member of the Dutch Lancia Club. The car stayed in her ownership for about 25 years and was well known in the Dutch Lancia scene.

In 2011 the current owner, a Dutch architect, bought the car and decided to partially restore the vehicle. A total respray (windows out, engine out) was carried out and during the build up phase (2011- 2014) some modifications are performed to create a car more in line with the views of the owner. All modifications can be easily undone and being transferred into stock mode (all original parts available).

A set of S1 Fulvia HF seats are installed as thought to be much nicer than the original high backed seats. The notoriously troublesome electric window and rear hatch lift system is upgraded and now works flawless. To complement the interior a leather rimmed Nardi wheel is installed.

The front of the car received Daytona style headlights protected by very rare perspex headlight covers. Bumpers were lost while the car was in Italy and due to the more aggressive look without them were never traced and reinstalled. Front wishbones are modified to HF1600 specs in order to create some negative camber. New brake rotors are fitted during this work.

While the engine was out a top-end rebuild is performed including the addition of a group 4 inlet manifold and a pair of Dellorto DHLA 40 to eliminate the troublesome Fulvia 1600 only Solex 42 carburettors. On the exhaust side, a group 4 competition manifold is fitted. To create a livelier throttle response the flywheel is lightened and balanced. An Aluminium radiator and electric fan complement the engine bay. After assembly the car has been carefully set up on a rolling road. This FSZ is a very lively performer and drives like a well sorted Fulvia should drive.
